About requesting

The requesting service operates Monday to Friday 9am-5pm.

  • All ADHB staff may request articles, chapters or books.
  • Requests are sourced from external libraries (Interlibrary Loans) when not available from University of Auckland libraries.
  • Charges are to ADHB, the organisation (not to individuals or departments); see also Costs and delivery times.

Requesting articles

  • Before placing a request, check whether the article you want is available in the ADHB Library Links e-journals list.
  • You may request up to 10 articles per week.
  • For copyright purposes, enter one article per request form; place multiple requests consecutively.
  • Articles will be emailed.

Requesting books

Current library Associate Membership is required to request books.

  • Use the The Catalogue catalogue to find print books held in University of Auckland libraries. Books not held will be sourced externally (Interlibrary Loans).
  • Books may be picked up from the Philson Library or delivered to Greenlane and community sites via the internal mail.
  • Copies of book chapters will be emailed.
  • Books from external libraries can be renewed by emailing a request for renewal (please include your Interloan number).
  • E-books in The Catalogue can be viewed on a Library computer only. Check if you can get the book online from ADHB Library Links e-books; or request a copy of a chapter.

Associate members with a username and password may also use the request options in The Catalogue to request books (excludes delivery to Greenlane and community sites).
