About requesting

The requesting service operates Monday to Friday 9am-5pm.

  • All Te Toka Tumai Auckland staff may request articles, chapters or books.
  • Requests are sourced from external libraries via Interlibrary Loans when not available from University of Auckland libraries.
  • Charges are to Te Toka Tumai Auckland, the organisation not to individuals or departments; see also Costs and delivery times.

Requesting articles

  • Before placing a request, check whether the article you want is available in the Te Toka Tumai Auckland E-Resources catalogue or the Te Toka Tumai Auckland E-journals.
  • You may request up to 10 articles per week.
  • For copyright purposes, enter one article per request form; place multiple requests consecutively.
  • Articles will be emailed.

Requesting books and chapters

Current library Associate Membership is required to request books.

  • Before placing a request, check whether the book you want is available as an e-book in the Te Toka Tumai Auckland E-Resources catalogue, or use the University of Auckland Catalogue to find print books held in University of Auckland libraries, including the Philson Library.
  • You may request books that are on loan. Books not held can be sourced externally via Interlibrary Loans. See how to request a print a book.
  • Books may be picked up from the Philson Library or delivered to Greenlane and community sites via the internal mail.
  • Books from external libraries can be renewed by emailing us (please include your Interloan number).
  • E-books in the University of Auckland Catalogue are only available from a Library computer or you may request a copy of a chapter. Copies of book chapters will be emailed.

Associate members with a username and password may also use the request options in The Catalogue to request books. See how to request a print a book.
